About us
Committed to providing affordable arts education for all ages, Multnomah Arts Center (MAC) has been serving the Portland area since 1973. MAC is a program of Portland Parks and Recreation supported by an all-volunteer nonprofit friends group, the Multnomah Arts Center Association. MAC offers a wide range of arts education in the visual and performing arts, including painting, drawing, printmaking, book arts, photography, ceramics, sculpture textiles, theatre, music, dance, and literary arts. Average enrollment is 1,500 students per term. With the support of the nonprofit, MAC provides need-based scholarships to anyone seeking assistance and maintains professional teaching studios and performing spaces, including the MAC Gallery, which serves emerging and established artists in Oregon and Washington.
