On September 15, 2005, the Board of Trustees unanimously approved a strategic plan that will guide the National Guild through 2007 and beyond. The plan is the culmination of a 12-month effort in which we engaged in dialogue with members, supporters and allies, and investigated trends affecting arts education, associations, and the nonprofit sector. Throughout the process we maintained sharp focus on the needs of our constituency -- organizations that share a collective mission of advancing high-quality, community-based arts education so that all people may participate in the arts according to their interests and abilities.
The plan incorporates an expanded vision of the Guild’s role as the national service organization for a diverse and dynamic constituency and catalyst for encouraging more Americans to participate in the arts. In order to realize our vision, we are committed to improving the quality, accessibility and relevance of our programs and to developing ways to increase member engagement. The plan details the following broad strategies for achieving these goals:
Increase value of membership
Increase member engagement
Grow membership
Restructure membership and reform Certification Program
Employ cutting-edge technology to increase organizational efficiency, member engagement and value of membership
Develop human and financial resources to support the Guild’s services and activities
