The story of one's work in community arts education can be told straightforwardly as training, as a form of social work, or as a business.  But in today's "busy and contradictory thematic universe," Goldbard says, the work has a higher calling.  This address was delivered at the 69th Conference for Community Arts Education, presented by the National Guild in 2006.
