Through a cooperative agreement with the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Guild is delivering strategic support and training to eight NEA/YO! Arts Partnership sites in order to strengthen their arts programming. This program is designed to introduce and enhance the quality of arts activities taking place within selected Youth Opportunity (YO!) Community Centers funded by the U.S. Department of Labor. These community centers serve young people between the ages of 14 and 21 by providing them with a wide range of employment, training, educational, and supportive services intended to prepare them for long-term private-sector jobs. The National Guild is providing technical assistance services and facilitating the sharing of best practices across the sites. The final project report will include documentation of the project along with an assessment of the feasibility of sustaining or expanding the NEA/YO! Arts Partnership.

June 2000- eight exemplary YO! sites were selected to participate in this exciting collaboration

March 2003- the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts was invited to mentor these fledgling arts programs

October 2003- Peer to Peer Training Institute in Denver

Today- Almost 1,000 youth are involved in arts programs in collaboration with job-training
