About us
Creative Action is the largest arts education organization in Austin, leading the way for the innovative application of the arts to support positive youth development. Our mission is to spark and support the academic, social, and emotional development of young people. We deliver more than 800 weekly programming hours in six urban, suburban, and rural area school districts, bringing original, arts-based curricula through in and out of school time residencies to more than 20,000 youth ages six weeks to 20 years old annually. Our unique programming integrates creative arts, academic, social, and emotional learning, and social justice education to achieve maximum youth impact. Our programs have a proven track record of success: 82% of participants feel they can use art to express themselves; 93% stand up for people who are being treated unfairly; and 95% believe they can make a difference in the world after participating.
