The National Guild recently released Creativity Matters: The Arts and Aging Toolkit. The toolkit is the first of its kind and offers the arts and aging fields detailed advice on the design, implementation and evaluation of professionally-led participatory arts programs for older adults. Such programs have been shown to produce significant general and mental health benefits for participants, and to strengthen community connections.
Developed in partnership with the National Center for Creative Aging and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, with support from MetLife Foundation, NAMM: The International Music Products Association, the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey, and Roche, the Toolkit exemplifies the Guild’s commitments to lifelong learning in the arts and to increased access to arts education for all. With the coming “silver tsunami,” now is the time for our network to expand programming for older adults and join together to raise public awareness about the benefits of these programs.
The Toolkit is available to non-members for $35. The member price is $30. To purchase, click here.
Review copies are available to press upon request. Please contact Heather Stickeler, marketing and communications manager, at (212) 268-3337 ext. 10, or at heatherstickeler@nationalguild.org
