Program Manager / National Guild for Community Arts Education

The National Guild for Community Arts Education seeks an experienced professional to manage programmatic activities including our national conference (the Conference for Community Arts Education), professional development programs, information services, grant making, as well as regional chapter and interest group activities.

Specific Responsibilities

Working out of our New York City office and reporting to the Associate Director, the Program Manager:

  • Manages the production of the annual national conference, The Conference for Community Arts Education
  • Manages grant programs including Partners in Arts Education and the Creative Aging Program
  • Manages the production Guild professional development events including the Community Arts Education Leadership Institute, Powerful Partnership Institute and Engaging Adolescents Institute
  • Coordinates the activities of the Guild’s regional chapters and member interest groups
  • Responds to member requests for support and information
  • Fulfills other responsibilities as assigned
  • Some travel required


Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of five years of program management experience
  • Minimum of three years of conference production experience
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, organizational skills, and the ability to synthesize information from diverse sources
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
  • Proven abilities in analytical and reporting skills
  • Excellent judgment; ability to be diplomatic and respect confidentiality
  • Ability to relate to diverse audiences
  • Self-motivation and the ability to be a good team player
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Demonstrated commitment to arts education and knowledge of nonprofit sector
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign), social media, and website maintenance are plusses


Compensation

Salary commensurate with experience, plus full benefits.
