Nick Cox, voice student at the South Shore Conservatory, took first place on Friday in the High School 16-18 division of the New England Music Theater Competition sponsored by the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS).
A senior at Bridgewater/Raynham High School, Nick competed in three rounds before finally taking first place. For the past three years he has studied voice at South Shore Conservatory with Lorna Jane Norris. Nick is in the process of his college auditions for fall entry in a musical theater training program.
NATS' National Music Theater Competition aims to seek out and award the best emerging talent in music theater, and is the first national competition for the music theater soloist.

About South Shore Conservatory
South Shore Conservatory was founded as a not-for-profit community music school in 1970 and now has two beautiful campuses in Hingham and Duxbury. Currently serving more than 2,500 students from the South Shore from ages 9 months to 90 years, SSC is the largest community school for the arts in New England. These students are of varying skill levels and participate in more than 50 diverse programs.
