Shelley Beard Schleigh, Suzuki Academy department head at Guild member, the Music School of Delaware, was awarded the Suzuki Association of the Americas (SAA) "Certificate of Achievement" at the biannual conference this past May in Texas. Only eleven teachers have received this award to date. SAA is committed to excellence in teaching and to establishing standards within a framework of the Suzuki philosophy. Recognizing teachers with a commitment to life-long learning and self-improvement is a part of SAA's commitment to excellence.

About the Music School of Delaware
The Music School of Delaware, founded in 1924, is the only statewide, accredited, community music school in the nation, serving residents of Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland. A community resource open to the public, the Music School employs nearly 100 expert educators and offers standard-setting instructional programs for people of all ages and levels. In addition, over 75 public performances each year, many of htem free, offer opportunities to enjoy outstanding music in a variety of styles and genres. A financial assistance program is available to ensure music excellence for everyone.
