On Friday, the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities (PCAH) announced the finalists for the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program (NAHYP) Awards – the country’s highest distinction for out-of-school time creative youth development programs. Included in the group of 50 outstanding programs are three Guild members: Art Expression, Inc. (Pittsburgh, PA); Seattle Art Museum for their Design Your (Neighbor)hood program; and Destiny Arts Center (Oakland, CA) for the Destiny Arts Youth Performance Company (DAYPC).

According to PCAH, “From big cities to small towns, the 2017 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award Finalists reflect the diversity of disciplines and settings of these exceptional creative youth development programs that are taking place from coast to coast.”

The winners of the award, announced in July, will receive a $10,000 award, an invitation to accept the award at a ceremony in Washington, DC, and an invitation to participate in the fourteenth annual NAHYP Awardee Conference, August 2-4, 2017, in Washington, DC.

Past winners of the award include numerous Guild members: Sphinx Overture, InsideOut Literary Arts Project, Rosie’s House, Alchemy Inc., and more.
