The National Guild’s new Ambassador Program is kicking-off this fall with events planned across the country. The first event was held this October by New York City ambassador Travis Laughlin, who hosted “The TASKs at Hand” – an event held at the Joan Mitchell Foundation that brought together arts education leaders in New York for a brainstorming and artmaking session facilitated by Oliver Herring.

Reflecting on the event, Travis noted that “these events are a prime example of utilizing unique approaches to create space that not only celebrates and connects, but generates energy for moving the field forward. I feel this event provided a chance for participants to re-connect with the transformative power of art and we all need to be reminded of that at times.”

Upcoming events include:

  • #AIE Chat: Assessing the Future of Arts-in-Education, October 15, 3:00 PM EST (Twitter)
  • Creative + Conversation: Connect Locally, Bridge Nationally, October 15, 2:00 – 5:00 PM MST (El Paso , TX)
  • Building Together: An Agenda-Setting Luncheon for Arts Education, October 16, 12:00 – 2:00 PM EST (Hartford, CT)

Check the Ambassador Page
for more information and to RSVP.

National Guild Ambassadors are volunteers from within the Guild’s membership who serve as points of contact to Guild members throughout the country and organize networking and professional development activities throughout the year. Beginning in October, the 18 exemplary arts education leaders began to launch their inaugural ambassador events. Check our ambassador page for more information on Guild Ambassadors.
