Feb 19, 2014

Join us Wednesday, March 12, 1:00PM-2:00PM EST for our upcoming webinar, Assessing Program Profitability, with Kristine Alvarez, associate director of advisory services or Nonprofit Finance Fund's Mid-Atlantic Region. The webinar is $35 for Guild members and $75 for non-members. Register now.

Whether tuition based or grant-funded, every program impacts your organization's bottom line. Making informed decisions about critical organizational issues like hiring or fundraising requires a clear understanding or each program's profit or loss. Is it inherently profitable? Does it require subsidy? How does it fit together financially with other programs?

Join us for a practical exercise in reviewing program economics through the use of the Program Profitability Model. This unique financial modeling tool will take you out of a "grant budgeting" mindset and offer your organization a clear framework to identify cost savings that may have minimal negative impact on programs, enlist the help of the board and staff in improving finances, tackle operating deficits, incorporate financial considerations within a long-term strategic plan, and ultimately balance mission and finances. We'll demonstrate how to apply the model to your organization using real-life examples, including an in-depth case study of a nonprofit arts education organization.
