Notes from a Hope Dealer's Handbook

Tue, Feb 13, 2018

2:00 PM ET - 3:30 PM ET

Members Only

Join Hasan Davis in a follow-up presentation to his inspirational keynote address at the 2017 National Conference for Community Arts Education, and explore strategies for engaging, encouraging, and empowering young people and communities. Hasan, former commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice and an expert in the intersection of arts, healing, and youth development, will share what it means to be a “hope dealer” and talk about how “dealing hope” helped him transform from Hasan Davis, Juvenile Delinquent into Hasan Davis, Juris Doctor. You will also learn first-hand “hope dealing” techniques that you can use in your own practice in your communities and organizations.

“His speech and presentation was so inspiring and helped reaffirm the reason I chose to work in arts education and the reasons I have stayed at my job. Very empowering outlook on the youth we are serving and making a long-term commitment to the work artists do.” - 2017 Conference attendee
