The National Guild for Community Arts Education has received a $275,000 grant from MetLife Foundation to continue the Me. The national initiative, now entering its eighth year, the MetLife Foundation Partners in Arts Education Program aims to improve teaching and learning in the arts by supporting and promoting exemplary partnerships between community arts education organizations and public schools. Objectives for 2012 include the distribution of grants of up to $20,000 to support arts education partnerships during the 2012-2013 school year.

MetLife Foundation Partners in Arts Education grants specifically support partnerships that:

  1. Exemplify best practices in creating and sustaining effective arts education partnerships;
  2. Demonstrate joint design and execution of programming, curricula, professional development, and evaluation;
  3. Provide high quality learning experiences that address national, state and/or local arts education standards;
  4. Serve significant numbers of public school students during the school day or extended day.
