This morning, the National Endowment for the Arts announced the appointment of CAELI alum, Ayanna Hudson, to the position of director of arts education.

The National Guild for Community Arts Education has received a $275,000 grant from MetLife Foundation to continue the MetLife Foundation Partners in Arts Education Program.

Tom DeCaigny, CAELI faculty member and former executive director of Performing Arts Workshop, has been named cultural affairs director of the San Francisco Arts Commission.

Through the National Guild’s 74th annual Conference for Community Arts Education, arts education providers had a renewed opportunity to think strategically about how to build a strong future for arts education in America.

The MetLife Creative Aging Program has been renewed for 2012. Grants of up to $10,000 are available to support exemplary creative aging programs in 2012.  Guidelines have been posted; the application deadline is December 16.

The Guild has received a grant from the William Penn Foundation to assess the organizational capacity needs of place-based, out-of-school, arts education providers in the Greater Philadelphia region.
